Codex Judas Congress
Thanks to all for a GREAT CONGRESS! Watch for the future publication of the seminar papers in a book edited by April DeConick, The Codex Judas Congress, Proceedings of the International Conference on the Tchacos Codex at Rice University, Houston, Texas, March 13-16, 2008.
Who's sponsoring it? The realization of one of my dreams - the making of the Codex Judas Congress - is entirely dependent upon the generosity of the Rice Faculty Initiative Fellowship, Rice Department of Religious Studies, Boniuk Center for the Study and Advancement of Religious Tolerance, and the Houston Archaeological Institute of America.
What is it? The Codex Judas Congress is an academic conference that sponsored the research presentations of thirty world-reowned scholars in order to examine the newly found Tchacos Codex, a fourth-century Coptic book that contains the Gospel of Judas, the Apocalypse of James, the Letter of Peter to Philip, and a fragment of Allogenes and Satan. These presentations occurred over the course of four days.
When is it? The conference ran March 13-16, 2008.
Where is it? The Congress convened at Rice University. The academic presentations will be delivered in Farnsworth Pavilion. The special public lectures in the evenings were scheduled in various locations.
Who's coming? Thirty international scholars will be
participating in this conference. For a complete list with the titles
