10-31-07 It has been a long time since I updated! The most exciting and most recent news is that The Thirteenth Apostle is published and available. It has been getting outstanding reviews, and readers have been sending me letters of thanks. I had the premier lecture and book signing in San Antonio two weeks ago at the Biblical Archaeology Society seminar that I co-taught with James Tabor on Unearthed Texts. It was a highlight of my career.

June 1, 2008 The Thirteenth Apostle to be released soon It is very exciting for me to announce the publication of my newest book, The Thirteenth Apostle: What the Gospel of Judas Really Says. In
this book, I argue that Judas is as demonic as ever, challenging
authors who have written about this text from the perspective of Judas the hero
and friend of Jesus. For all the details, click here.

May 15, 2008 Rice University announces recipients of Faculty Initiative Fellowships Equally
exciting is the announcement of the Faculty Initiative Fellowships.
Fifteen fellowships were given by Rice University this year, and one
was awarded to me! I am going to use my grant to put on the Codex Judas
Congress, March 13-16, 2008. Twenty-five world-renowned scholars will
be coming to the Rice campus to discuss the Tchacos Codex. This is a
fourth-century book that contains the Gospel of Judas and three other
early Christian texts. For all the details, click here. |
